I first picked up The Artist’s Way in 2019 after reading this Julia Cameron profile in the NYTimes. I was immediately drawn to her approach to life and hooked on the concept of her teachings. Time and time again, though, I found myself unable to make it through the full 12 weeks without getting stuck, giving up for a few weeks (or months), and then starting again from scratch. Confronting your creative blocks is no joke, and for whatever reason, even though Cameron herself has laid out guidelines for doing the book in community,  I had myself convinced I had to do it alone. Why do we do that? Convince ourselves that doing something alone is somehow more impressive than doing it with community? I know in my bones it’s not how we’re meant to live. I'm over it. So, I started this community. One where we can hold eachother accountable, inspire eachother to show up for ourselves, and laugh in the face of the discomfort of uncovering our creative blocks. I hope you'll join! Whether it's your first time or your fifth, it’s never a bad time to explore our creative identities and take ourselves on some artist date’s along the way :)
